had a guy with a manual tranny sunfire try his luck today at the stoplights.. was a newer sunfire with fart-can exhaust and he has a cold air intake and disconnected his govenor. off the line he got me until he shifted into second..not than he was an incompetent driver but I had the monte in 3rd with traction off and caught and passed him i kept him at about 6 lenghts all the way to 85 when i decided that it was a little too fast for the street we pulled into a gas station and first thing he started looking for was a turbo or supercharger which all i have is a k&n drop in and a 60 series flowmaster. thought id share with the rest of the group

just a single 60 series flowmaster, soon to have the res. and u bend gone.... not to knock anything on the guy in the sunfire put he has a pretty quick car. have seen him take down some that are hard to believe... 92 5.0 stang yesterday morning.. so now i'm trying to find that mustang to make his loss even worse.. the wife has a 06 v6 mustang and off the line up to about 75 i have her.. then about 80 she catches and pulls away buy a car and a half

 

How is that sunfire able to beat a 5.0. I know the 5.0's arn't fast but a Sunfire running with it really hard to believe. The 5.0 must not be able to drive or something.

 

haha... thats what im thinking. i have a pretty quick LS, but I dont think I could even beat that mustang (again... back to me and racing a stang... wow). how many miles are on you LS?

The guy with the sunfire has alot of mods.. intake, injectors, throttle body spacers, performance trans and driveshafts, header and full exhaust. The 92 stang is all bone stock no mods at all and it's a gt which makes it heavier.. vita my monte has 63500 on the odometer but the tranny has 2k it was a new gm unit installed by a gm dealer before i got it. my oldest brother hooked it to a dyno in his shop and said it had 212 horses at the flywheel and 141 to the ground. cant remember the torque off hand and didnt get a result sheet as he did it as aoff the clock, after hours kind of deal
