SLP Lower Grille

I think I'll hold off. :P I'll wait a little bit and see if anyone is getting rid of theirs, hopefully it warms up around Mitch soon! :P I don't wanna paint it because of rock chips and stuff, specially since my dad lives down a dirt road and I go and see him quite a bit, I would think about it if it was paved.
Painting the teeth black properly would hold up just as well as the original red paint. But unless you're able to do it yourself, a paint shop may charge you a fortune just to paint the teeth.
I wanted to do the teeth on my Monte a couple years ago. And wasn't sure how well the SLP lower grill would hold up to being outside in the elements 365 days a year, including winter time driving. Plus, I didn't want an add-on piece. I wanted the teeth painted gloss black so it would look like it came from the factory that way.
So I asked a local body shop for a price quote, to see if it was worth doing myself. They wanted $500. They told me if I masked the area off myself, or removed the bumper cover and brought in just the bumper cover, it would be cheaper.
They said the high price was because of the difficulty of masking and painting the piece still attached to the car. Seeing how it's only a few inches off the ground, and the painter would have to lie on the floor to paint it. That's what they said anyway. I think they gave me an insane price simply because they didn't want to do it.
If you want the teeth to look professionally done, I'd say do it right the first time. Paint. If you just want to change the look of the car and be able to reverse it back to stock red, get the SLP grill.

well, i say keep it and get the slp grill. cheaper than paint and you'd be able to take it off and re-sell it on here
