the lower grille, thats the insert that goes over the area with the crest?

 

No, it's the black out strip that goes on the lower grille.

It's the "lower" grille, that is the stock one on Mike (03JG)'s car that he painted, the SLP one is just a thicker style, plus it's designed to go off and on the car so you can paint it an accent color off the car.
