Default Take off bumper cover

I have an 88 SS and I need to take the bumper cover off to put a new one on. There are really weird bolts though that I haven't seen before and don't know how to get them off. They're perfectly round and black. No edges to get a wrench on.

Under, they're actually plastic retainer-rivets. the center, smallest piece you pull out while holding the larger outer piece in place, once the little inner piece pulls out like a quarter inchthe whole thing will just pull out of the bumper.

at least, that's what they are like on my 06, and were like on my 03... You can see those little slots where you can get something to pry out the center part first.... at least that's what it looks like to me.

Use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the plug in the center down... it will pop at about 1/2 inch. Then you can pull the whole thing out.

I used a door panel removal tool (to pull out the pins that hold the panel to the steel part of the door) before and it works very well to pull the center out while pushing on the outside of the whole part.

Dikes or sidecut pliers work well, just dont squeeze to hard or you'll cut the head off.
