Spoliers...
They Leak... The toher day i moved my spare to see if anything ahd fallen under it ( I was missing some tools ) and i found about 4 inches of standing water in the well... I removed the rubber caps int eh bottom to let it drain. I noticed all the O-Rings on the bolts for the spoiler had dry rotted. This morning i removed the spoiler to find 7 years worth of leaves, dead bugs, dirt, dust, mold and other things i cannot identify at the moment.... Later today im gonna buy some Silicone to re seal the spoiler, when i get it all back together I'll post before during and after pics

You can just buy new rings for the bolts, they cost like $0.75 each at a dealer, they are like a soft spongy metal and you just tighten them down and they seal it off.
I wouldn't completely seal off the spoiler with silicone

Yeah that's pretty gross, I took my spoiler off not too long ago for the 06 spoiler. But mine wasn't nearly as bad, I can at least get water to go under and clean that stuff out :P
I just don't think a silicone seal is the best idea, what if you want to remove the spoiler again and it's almost impossible lol, or if you seal it up but moisture still gets in and starts to ruin things?

If you get the GM ones, as you tighten they come apart to form a seal. It's not like a metal washer or anything, it's like they are pieces of silicone in the shape of the washer and then they "mold" to the area so I don't think anything else would be required.
I just mounted with those, made sure they were nice and tight and did away with all my double-sided taping and I haven't had any issues with my spoiler or leaks.
