Default the how to

14dmn, so did you paint your mirrors while still on the car and just mask everything off or did you have to take to the door panel off and take out the screws and unclip the wiring, painting it seperate from the car? it looks great so i want to take that on as my next task but am unsure of how to go about it so i wondered how exactly you did it

he did it while the mirrors were on the car, but it's not hard to pop mirrors off and I would suggest that way.

Mastertoby,

You can see my mirrors (both painted and unpainted on the 2006, painted on the 2002) in the photo gallery under my album "2002 and 2006 Monte Carlo SS"

I'm not really sure how to link them in here right now, but they are definitely in the gallery. Hope that helps!

How do you pop the mirrors off the 01 Monte's? I have been trying to figure that out so I can install my led arrow turn signal lights but I didn't want to mess up anything. Also, is painting the mirrors a "Do-It-Yourself" job or its best too let the pro's do it?

rgant,

I'm not sure about taking the actual mirror off itself, but I would say it's easier to let the pros paint the mirrors. If you have the capabilities I wouldn't see why you couldn't do it yourself, but I did not, and it was easier to let them do it!

My mirror itself actually came off a couple months ago. It seems like its just stuck in place with some sort of glue. Yeah I painted my mirrors while they were on. I woulda took em off but my drivers side mirror is jacked up a bit and it made me nervous trying to remove it. Painting the mirrors is really a simple DIY if you know how to control paint and also have patience. But its all worth it in the end if ya ask me.

I believe the mirrors are just three bolts underneath the door panel. As for your side skirts I'm pretty sure they're just clipped on somehow. Allthough I'm not entirely sure. Somebody who knows will chime in hopefully cause I'm want to do something similar. What color is your monte?
