What Insurance do you have?
I have AAA.. I will gladly take it to there repair facility as they guarantee the repairs for as long as you own your car. As an example.... Some kid hit my 2004 Silverado when it was parked.... They did the repairs and I was having an issue with a tie rod end... (on the side they repaired) Thus they replaced and realigned it for free.... Something to consider... The accident happened in 2009... this was 3 weeks ago... So still 5 yrs later the Guarantee stands!

I have RBC Insurance. I used to have CAA, and like you, lifetime warrantee on repairs. They did a bad repair at their "Recommended" body shop. They filled and painted over a crack. Plus only 60% of the value of my stereo that was stolen, and replaced with inferior parts. Then they refused to fix it. I fought with them for 6 months, when the policy was up, I went to a new company. Then they refused to talk to me or even acknowledge me.
Short of a full out law suit, there was nothing I could do to get a 400 repair done right. I sold the Cavalier Z24 for 1000 @ 9 yrs old, and was quite happy with it.

The dealership I bought the car from has now changed ownership, but the body shop manager is still there.
This will be the 4th time its been there.

Hey Tom, that's a shame, but ****e happens. That's why we pay the insurance premiums we do. Did the airbags fire? Now a days that's almost an automatic right off. If the insurance company starts to who and hah, you'll need to produce all your mod and maintenance receipts, also they will treat it as a Monte Carlo base, you may need to push the point of it being an SS. Good luck and hopefully it's back to original soon.

Default Sideswiped - UPDATE

Got her in the dealer body shop this morning. I met the Insurance adjustor.
They're ordering New Fender, New Mirror, alignment, goanna send the wheel out to be re-finished. Paint bumper fender & door. He says the bill is 3089.
Insurance co. authorized an aftermarket fender, but the dealer is going to match the price to use the GM fender. (that's why I go to the GM dealer body shop)
I got a Chev Malibu for a rental, and its going to take at least a week.

Thank you all for you concern and encouragement.
I'll post update when I get it back

Called my body shop mgr., since its been two weeks.

He says they 'Should' have it done by the end of the day.

I hate it when they say that, that means they're rushing to finish it because they're out of time.

I'll go see it, gotta leave work early to make it there by 5, take rental back, etc.

Default All Fixed Up!!!

They got it done just in time. 4:55 pm.

New Fender and Mirror. Painted bumper, bumper valance, fender and side skirt. Bumper/valance look way better than before, They were damaged before the last accident. So the body shop manager let me know it took extra work that they should change for.
They sent the wheel out to be refinished, looks like a new wheel.

Only got one quick pic, it's pouring rain out here.
