Default removing valve covers and intake maifold

Okay I was just reading somone painted their intake manifold and I just didnt want to steal his thread soooooo, can someone please give me detailed instructions on how to remove my valve covers and intake manifold??
Im wanting to paint them both.. Also could you give me your opinion on what color to paint them.
Im leaning towards chrome, but im open to suggestions, or definatly if you have pics or links to pics on a 3400 (If you didnt know what engine I had) that would be most appreciated. Thanks all!!!

I know you said paint, but I absolutely LOVE a mirror polished upper intake on a 3100/3400. Unfortunately, I can't find a pic on google images- but it looks baller and way better than paint IMO.

pulling the upper intake off a 3.4 litre is soooooo easy i wouldn't bother with the valve covers though. you need a 10mm and a 13mm socket and a ratchet and a 13mm wrench, some needle nose pliers a small screw driver and a battery wrench. you will also need a new upper intake gasket (get a felpro gasket they are the best).
1. disconnect the battery ground
2. remove the alternator harness and main wire(use the 13mm wrench to hold the alternator post and use the ratchet to loosen the nut)
3. remove alternator support rods if it has them
4. remove the intake hose from the throttle body
5. disconnect all wiring harness connectors carefully (they are easy to break) from the tps, iat, map, idle air control motor, egr, and evap purge solenoid. if i missed any that are attached to the upper intake...sorry
6. remove the pcv tube(easier to remove the pcv with it)
7. loosen the 10mm bolts and remove the map sensor and vacuum hose
8. you may need to loosen but not remove the lower bolts holding the coil pack and ignition module bracket
8.5. remove egr valve
9. disconnect the park plug wires from the coil packs for the front spark plugs and drape them over the front of the rad support
10. remove remaining bolts from upper intake and pull it off
11. remove the old gasket whilst not dropping any down the intake runners
12. POLISH THAT THING LIKE CRAZY
13. enjoy

if i missed anything i apologize that was from memory only and i'm kinda drunk right now.

do you vibrate it to get that mirror finish. i would think polishing it would lead to rust. or are you talking about chrome.
