I was going to say hair dryer. Too bad it didn't work. It works great on getting my old sticker off my license plates every year.

I would get a heat gun they put out a lot more heat than a hair dryer. Most vinyl will soften right up on low. Once you get it all off have it rubbed out with a high speed buffer by a professional and it may look alright.

If you have a high speed drill u can get a pin stripe removal tool from your local parts store(its a round eraser).do not by any means use wd40 on your car.that stuff will soak into your paint and create a nightmare for the body shop that try to do some repaint in those areas.after you get the striping off clean the area with a good grease and wax remover.the polish the area wit a fine compound to remove hazing and fine scratches.if this sounds like to much work the just take it to a body shop you trust and they'll fix you up.

Ahh I think I see why you are thinking about white now. Are your bowties, windshield banner, & side pinstriping white?

Mr.Monte 07-11-2011 02:27 PM

yes they are! and if i do white i feel like i could always get the ground effects wrapped whiteee!

I must say-- i'm not a fan of decals that run across the body of the car, but for those being aftermarket (not the stock checkered flag), they look alright.

I would take the pinstripes off if you are going to do any added graphics. And I would keep the color silver too.

See I like the graphics on the side bcuz it really helps set the monte apart from the rest. But I agree with Amy about taking off the pinstriping on the side if you are keeping the big side graphic bcuz it's almost like overkill imo. & idk I'm really thinking silver would be the better choice but then you'd have to maybe replace the bowties & windshield banner
