Hey folks,
I put some orange on the calipers today. I think it turned fairly good. I didn't remove them or anything, just masked them off a bit. I would have liked to take them off, but I do not know how to. My dad says to me, don't take the calipers off! but he's not very mechanically inclined. lol. I know you have to bleed the brakes. I need to wait for the paint to dry before I can drive it up to the park or somewhere and take some decent shots of it. I also got the tail lights finished. Now I need to get the wizaired CAI. I only need a few more pennies.

 

Very nice touch - I never take the calipers off when I paint them.

 

Oh, really? Well, I cleaned them really good with brake cleaner and a wire brush and a tooth brush so I'll see how long they will hold up.

 

What paint did you use? I use the G2 kit and it holds up extremely well.

Very cool. Ive always been a fan of orange for automotive things, that explains why..

I ended up using VHT Flame Proof Header Paint. I figured it would be ok on the calipers since it has a higher temp rating.
I want to touch up my engine cover with it as well.

 

Should work fine. I think its the same paint, but the caliper paint is a bit glossier and easier to clean. Im not even really sure.

 

I just did the same with my yet-to-be-installed F-body upgrade. That looks good behind there - and its at about the same eye-level as the rest of the TS detailing accents.


Except I powder-coated mine and got them to match the color to my Tony Stewart Home Depot orange.
