Default painting chrome trim in grille black

Just wondering if anyone has done this to a red monte carlo so I could see what it looks like. Also can you take the chrome trim off or do you have to just tape it off.

I seen a product by dupli color called chrome black out, you can make it as dark as you want but it will still have that shiny effect, its made for chrome rims but im sure you could use it on trim

I'm just planning on plast-dipping it. I mainly wanted to know if the piece comes off easily or if it's just easier to tape it off.

yes the chrome bezel will pop off the black grille itself, which would make it super easy to paint.there are little tabs all the way around it. i was contemplating doing this myself, as my car is red, and i want the red/black theme to it instead of red/chrome/black
