Default painting bumper lip and rims(opinions)

so iv been thinking about painting my rims black and the very bottom lip of both bumpers and the plastic side skirt piece either black or dark gray. if i do dark gray i would also repaint my spoiler to dark gray.
The only reason im thinking dark gray is to be a little different, silver and black is all too common.. i just want you guys opinions.

I think dark colors on the side rails tend to make the car look higher from the ground, especially at night. If you color match with the car body then the car appears about 3" closer to the ground. Perhaps a tastefully applied dark grey accent stripe would be all that is needed for the side rails. But then I have my car lowered and want mine to appear as low to the ground as possible. Dark grey wheels could work just fine, perhaps a pin stripe of the cars main color around the wheels perimeter to tie everything in and not have the wheels look like an orphan.

Nice Looking "Silver Surfer"
I like the name as well as the look!

I would love to get a set of those rims for mine!

We have seen guys here with several combinations as far as colors, spoiler, etc...
Me personally..
I kinda like the silver and black combinations...Whether its skirts, spoiler, or stripes.... I'm not so sure that a shade of grey with silver would be a good color combination. But then again what do I know...lol I guess it would definitely depend on the shade of grey you were thinking of using.

Please keep up posted !

Zippy, I fear that you are right about it looking higher if I paint the skirts black.. But I think all silver would be too plain..
Thank you very much stumpmi
As if now, and I could always change my mind, I am going to paint the skirts all around black and pinstripe with a dark gray in between the black and silver.
Also if it doesn't start raining today I might get around to painting rims so I'll update the thread with pictures
Also I am planning to eventually put some ss rims but I just bought new tires so that will have to wait a while

Lucas:
I do realize this isn't your Model year...
But this may give you some idea what a nice black and silver combination looks like...

That doesn't look bad at all!
But I wonder if it would still look as good with black rims..even if it doesn't that gives me a reason to buy the ss rims sooner

What do you guys think? It took me forever.. I washed rims, sanded them, washed again, cleaned with acetone, primed twice, and a thick layer of "high performance" black gloss.. I think it was worth it.Name: 3869326F-64EC-4CCE-A8B9-052164350C44_zpsh7l09hqn.jpg
