Default Paint options, opinions please.

Ive got a 95 monte z34, and im gonna paint it myself and i need help choosing colors. I dont see many nice fifth gens and i want to bring em back. And i was wondering what are some color combos you think would be nice, pictures would be nice. Atm im thinking a powder blue car, then the bottom panels and spoiler i'd paint pearl. Please keep it two or three colors, and limit the crazy detailing.

I think you should keep it one color. When you start doing 2 or more colors, sometimes it becomes tacky. I think a lazer blue metallic would look good if you want to go with blue. I am biased towards red so I think a victory red or maybe a little darker red pearl like on the cadillacs would look good and real clean.

You can't go wrong with a "candy apple red". It looks good on any car. Doing it myself would scare the crap out of me. Do you have the experience to do something like this?

Yes, victory red or candy apple red does look pretty sweet.

its not the color that brings a car back from the dead, its the paint job, and quality of the body work, and maybe suttle minor body line changes ext. go with black. then you'll see how your good your tutor is...

What makes a older car stand out is a really clean paint job, nice masking, and every other part of the car clean.

It will be nice, this guy does really old cars. And the cars have won many shows, i dont want black. Black is such a generic color, candy red is pretty cool, but its not my thing. But i feel that candy red would look really nice on my car though.

Why not do a two-tone royal blue/powder blue. You could maintain that look throughout the car with interior/exterior lighting, tint, wheels...

I had a 73 with code 26, bright blue metallic. I am now considering repainting my 01 the same color. Here's a Nova with #26
