Question New On Painting But Have Plans!

So I see some people on here that have their superchargers painted and I'm jealous I don't have much experience painting but would like to know what kind of paint, how long it takes and any tips on what to do and what not to do.

I also would like to paint some of my interior to match my secondary. Im thinking maybe my steeringwheel and door panels. again, what kinda paint and how do I go about? thanks in advance!

When it comes to the blower, I prefer the Chrome/Polished look over colors.

that's kinda what I'm leaning more towards myself. do I have to remove the blower or can I just cover up and spraypaint it down with high temp paint?

For anything to come out decent best bet is to remove it.

I thought someone here was working at a powdercoating shop, maybe they can help more in the subject.

How difficult is it to remove the blower? to put it back together am I going to have to buy all the gaskets again and refill with sc oil?

Not too hard, yes you will need to buy a new s/c gasket and throttle body gasket if you take the tb off. I would drain the s/c oil and get new.

If you remove it you will need a new S/C gasket, o rings, TB gasket, misc stuff like rtv.

I suggest you powdercoat it. I spray paint, because I don't like to spend money, but it'll need new paint in time. No matter how well you prep it, it just gets too hot and cold and too many fluids on it and it cracks.

Just to clarify do you want to paint the actual supercharger and ditch having the cover or paint the cover?

ditch the cover and paint the actual supercharger. might sound silly but the only reason I removed the cover was because I heard it'll help keep my temp under the hood down? anyway how much is powdercoating? how long will the paint last if I simply spray it?
