Question New to the Forum

I inquired yesterday about how wide of a wheel combo would fit on a stock 1986 Chevy Monte Carlo LS. I am trying to avoid tubbing the vehicle at this point or narrowing the rear end, and am not sure how one would measure it anyway.

If anyone please can help me with this question, it would be greatly appreciated.

From my memory I beileve that you should be able to squeeze a 8.5" maybe a 9" wheel with the right back spacing and a 275 tire should fit nicely. I will have to go back and look because I haven't worked on my '78 since last fall.

Here's a good thread and if your not a member of this site I am linking you too...don't hesistat do it great site I've been a member over there since 03 I think. But great link to read through.

My mistake for not including the girls! Thanks for the welcome. And thanks for the answer to a question that I have been searching for a while now. I think an 8.5 or 9.0 inch will look great. Now I just have to choose from the millions of wheels!
