Default Monte LSS

Here are some updates to what I call my monte LSS 😂🤣

So far so good with the fiberglass parts; the toughest parts were being delicate while drilling holes and putting everything together. Gonna finish up the front end and do the side skirts and hood before I send it to Maaco. Still have to figure out how to secure my headlights seeing as how the aftermarket fender doesnt have outside brackets for a retainer clip.

And did you paint them yourself?

Yes they are; took my time and painted them with a oem color code spray made by the paint shop. I used Spraymax 2K clear for now until I hand it over to Maaco.

Had to wait for my buddy to put these side skirts on, and man were they a tight fit; the self-tapping screws came in handy here. As you can see in the last picture, the driver side skirt broke on us so I'll try to find something to patch it together with. Changed my appointment time with Maaco to next week so I don't lose it.

So theyre not vented? Every one of their pics of them on teh website shows them to be vented.. How hard you think itd be to cut and glue a mesh in there?

If its fiberglass, you can just rough it up, add some support on the back and lay a bit of additional fiberglass over the back.

If its plastic, you should be able to weld it unless its really odd material.

Upside is its just a cosmetic cover, so it doesn't need a ton of strength, just enough to keep it together under body flex so its not cracking paint.

Since the openings would be so tiny, you could also just paint the spots flat black. Would give the visual illusion at least that they're open without having to cut up the fenders.

Not like they'd really have any useful function if open anyways.

Yeah this would've been a great default bumper for the SS models.
