You know how I said they don't make them?

Perhaps I forgot a little piece of information...

I'm not 100% sure if this is completely steel, you'll have to ask them.

http://www.mpd1.com/content/mc_ramair2000.html

2000 and up Monte Carlo owners can customize their car with our functional
ram air hood Steel frame seamless underside that ensures a perfect fit!
Available port plenum set up to make a fully functional ram air.

HOWEVER

Under the FAQ section of their Website:
All ram air hoods comes unpainted, ready to prep and paint. If you do not already have a shop in mind to do the finishing touches, look for one that has experience with fiberglass and has worked with aftermarket hoods. Your local performance shop may also have recommendations. Your body shop will want to test fit the hood immediately upon receiving it. The body shop will need to block sand and prime it prior to painting. This is where a good body shop is important. Typical labor time to prefit, prep, and paint is usually about 8 hours. Average costs are about $450-500. Metallic colors might be slightly more.

MPD hood are very good, not only saying that because I have one. ; ))) The are made out of the very same (Monte Carlo) steel hood frame. And correct, they don't make all steel ram air hoods. That I know of...MOST shops should be able to paint fiberglass with no problem. Just make sure and ask. I paid $800 cash to paint my hood. Like above stated, Metallic colors are more and I had the shop blend the fenders and paint the plenum black.

Off MPD website...

"2000 and up Monte Carlo owners can customize their car with our functional

I can assure you that the Hood I got is NOT all steel, the frame yes, but not the top skin.

And the Grill insert is not metal, at least the one they sent me...It's a GM grill straight off a Camaro SS.

Unless they changed something, The hood is fiberglass with a steel frame, and the grill is a plastic, not metal. I remember they even forgot to send me the grill and I had to call Eric, wasn't a big deal though. I think I still have the part # at home because it came in a GM box.
