Default Help sourcing a part.

Im trying to reseal my doors and I need to find the upper seal above the window on the door itself. I don't know what the part number is called and when I went to a local junkyard, all of the cars I looked at were missing that piece of weatherstripping or it was broken like mine. Any help with sourcing a part number or even just giving me a technical name of what that piece is called would be a great help.

So I am fairly sure I found the part numbers I need but they are discontinued. The numbers are 10321351 10321350 for the upper molding and 10317932 10317933 for the window scraper moldings. Does anybody have an idea if there are any aftermarket parts that match these? Im fine with having to trim them and make it work.

Did you check GM Parts Giant?

Yes I have tried GMpartsgiant and a few other OEM sellers. All of them say that they are discontinued so I cannot get one through that particular seller.

Sadly, these cars are at that age where a lot of these parts are being discontinued and being a bit vehicle specific, a lot of aftermarkets are not willing to produce replacement parts.

Ain't this the truth, sadly as it is to admit. I would have thought weather stripping or moldings would not be an issue but it seems like those are the hardest bits to comeby nowadays.

I keep meaning to get pieces from the junk yard that might be re-usable (I have one that my black monte will be getting). I am tempted to see if it is possible to change out the rubber strips in the trim piece (rebuild it if you will). I just have not had the time to look into that.

I'd try widening your net then. Although they're discontinued, there's bound to be some stock out there somewhere (NOS parts).

Id probably pop into the local dealer to see if they show any in their system/ distribution network. If not, I'd search a wider array online (eBay, other dealers, Google search, etc under the PN you're looking for). Depending how long they've been discontinued, theres bound to be some left somewhere in the country if you have the time to search long enough.
