hard as hell if you dont no what you doing. Honestly i would get it professonaly done. But what u do is hold the tint outside the windown and cut it. clean inside window, soak window with soap and water, peal tint, appy and make sure all air bubbles r out. Keep window up for one week.

Most shops offer a lifetime warrenty.

im thinkin its worth the extra bucks to get it done right by a professional. i got mine done for 175, life time warrenty and it havent had any problems. ive seeen some cars that did it them self and they always end up bubbeling and pealing off and it looks like trash.

If you get the pieces correctly precut, then there are only two steps- cleaning and shrinking.

Cleaning is pretty straightforward- using a razor blade and solution. Shrinking is quick with a heat gun (you really want the tint to conform to the windows so it isn't stressed internally). You also need to do it when its much warmer out- being in IL, you need to wait at least another couple months- the summer heat on the windows really helps it dry up nice.

The sides aren't terrible to do, the big pain is the back window. Even if you do it in one piece- its still a pain due to the size and curvature. Nice thing about a tint shop is if they goof a little, they can just toss the piece and recut- you won't have that option.

I'd also definitely suggest taking it somewhere- the lifetime warranty alone is worth the extra money.

I think you'll pay $40-$60 bucks to buy the tint yourself, and at least here in Florida, tint shops start at $99 to do it for you (including the film of course). I just paid $150 to have mine done. I wasn't happy with one of the side windows - is was blurry - so they redid it no charge. I usually do my own repairs, but I've never been tempted to try tinting.

Damn, $375! Maybe they quoted you the price to tint the windows on a school bus. I had a Lumina (4 doors) tinted a few years back for $99. I would have gone back to the same place (they did a great job) but they're out of business (along with my lifetime warranty, I guess). Anyway. the next two shops quoted $149 and $159. So, I paid the $149. Now I have another "lifetime" warranty for as long as this guy is around - probably another year or two.
