Getting Painted
So I dropped the Monte off this morning to be fixed up and painted. The guy has been in the business forever, and my uncle uses him a lot so I figure he's pretty good.
He's going to paint my new trunk lid from an '05 Monte w/ a NASCAR spoiler and install it to replace my Impala crap one. Then he's repairing my rear quarter panel. My drivers side one is bad.
Then he's also going to repaint a couple rust spots on the bottom of my passenger door, and finally he's going to fix a nice ding / scratch in my drivers door. My front bumper had a little dent / crack in it, but after I dropped it off and he put it on the lift he said that he sees that my passenger quarter panel has rust holes in it too, so he won't be doing the front bumper yet since I'm going to put that money towards the second quarter panel.
I'll catch the bumper on my second trip; I'm going to have the hood redone since inside it's corroded, and my passenger door needs resprayed because after the accident they never matched the paint properly - it's a little lighter than the rest of the car.
Here's a picture from when I first bought the car - still on the dealer's lot.
I'll post some pictures when I get it back.

I'll check with him when I pick it up since I'm not sure what I did with the estimate - but he's charged me 1,500 for everything. But with the quarter panel, he's actually cutting the damaged part out and replacing it with new metal.

Just got her back today - took the guy all week and he said he pretty much was only working on mine.
I think he did an awesome job. It matches perfectly and if you look at the before and after of my quarter panels - it looks great. He also resprayed the hood and fixed the rust on my passenger door.

No - all that black stuff will wear off. It's painted underneath. If I took a picture again, most of the bubbling at the bottom is gone and the layer of black...whatever that is....It's kid of slippery so maybe some sort of oil, but it's not as strong.
