Hey everyone,

My 06 Monte's hood is kinda rough on the eyes because it's clear-coat has flaked away and is taking the paint with it now.

I will be having a friend of mine who has the equipment and know-how to get the thing painted do it for me, but I need to get the paint of course.

So after looking it up on Touch Up Paint from PaintScratch.com, it seems that my Monte either is "Laser Blue Metallic" or "Superior Blue Metallic". I am going to assume it's the Superior Blue Metallic, but can anyone say otherwise by this picture?

 

did you investigate your paint code located on the sticker under your trunk lid? that is the only for sure way to tell

 

Make sure the hood gets stripped to bare metal first then painted. You can tell a corner-cutting repaint by feeling along the edge of a panel and the difference in thickness/texture/color variation.

Should look good as new when its done if its doen right.

 

It looks like superior blue to me but the trunk tag is the only way to tell for sure. It should be near the end of the sticker.

There might be different variants of the actual color. You need to look on the trunk lid and get the color code

 

Yeah, if I had to guess, it has been waxed all of maybe once or twice in it's lifetime before coming into my possession. I am guessing the hood was re-done once before and done incorrectly at that because no other part of the body has had the clear coat peal away like this.

Took a look at the trunk sticker, it says 2G1WM15K169221516. So I am going to guess that it is the Laser Blue because it matches the laser blue code is 21/WA218M which, kind of matches the sticker code? Any thoughts?

Got it repainted and they did the headlights for me aswell
