Default Front Plate Filler question

My 05 came with a plate filler, but I need some help mounting it. The two holes where the dealer plate was are too far into the space... Do I need to just force the new screws into the plastic?

Diagram:

_______________________ Top of "plate hole"

x...... o ........ o......... x
_______________________ Bottom of "Plate Hole"

x = where holes need to be for filler
0 = where they are currently

ok. here they are

1st picture shows whole thing... the places for the screws was where the dealer plate was and u can kind of see on the out side of those are marks where the filler screws would go.

2nd pic shows the screw hole and the filler "should be" hole

The bigger holes might be where somebody mounted a front plate to the bumper. I think you need to drill the smaller holes out to put the plate filler on. I think that's what I had to do after I got my front bumper replaced after the accident.

Ya, use a very small drill bit just to get the hole started. I think I had a little trouble finding small screws to fit the holes.

The screw holes on my front filler plate pretty much match the smaller holes in your picture. The larger holes are the standard licence plate screw holes. The factory screws that came with my filler plate are about 3/4 inch long. And uses about a 1/8 inch hole. Any screws you can find about that size will work. May want to paint the screw heads black so they're not so obvious.

i checked it last night, mine has the big holes for the license plate like yours and also looks like there were smaller holes drilled for the filler. so just push through or drill
