Front Bumper Clear Coat chipping??

My clear coat on my front bumper looks as it chipping and cracking and I was wondering If I just buy some quality clear coat and spray it and buff it in if it would fix the problem?http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/...ps65464663.jpg

Clear wont fix it you would see right where it was peeling the spot where its peeled will be lighter, looks tp me like its a replacement bumper & they didnt prep it right for paint, a whole repaint is all that will fix it 100%

well i seen on Rockauto I could get a whole new front and rear bumper for under 250 bucks which is a steal really. All I have to do is maybe prime sand paint sand clear coat it and sand again right?

Yeah if u redo urs just sand those spots smooth hit it with primer a few times shoot a lil black spray paint on it as a guide coat, wetsand with 500 gritt, sand the rest of the bumper with 800 gritt hit the spot u fixed with a black sealer, than ur base than clear, if its a new bumper than hit it with 500 gritt, black sealer than base & clear

do you have to sand the clear coat or base coat? I was also thinking looking into the junkyards we have in town. part out some **** i could use bumpers, headlights taillights whatever

As ur painting no, but u can hit the base with 2000 gritt after the first coat to get rid of dirt & unless ur really good at using a buffer i wouldnt sand the clear
