Default Fixed rust & painted the mufflers...

Hey hey hey! Soo one of my recent project was to fix the rust behind my headlights & to paint my mufflers black before the show on last Saturday (pic thread soon to come). So yeah after hours upon hours of detailing my car after working 7-3 earlier that day, I finally did it.
I can't find any before pics at the moment from the lil bit of rust developing behind the headlights but I got a couple after pics while the spots were drying...first I popped the headlights out & took a pic of it bcuz I thought it looked funny lol busted my knuckle open trying to get one of the headlight brackets off. Hurt like hell & is still kinda bruised.

Used rust converter for now...eventually I may get back there & paint it black to match the car but no one really sees that so I'm not worried about it at the moment

Then I moved onto the mufflers. I was quickly running outta daylight...
Before...

Then Ryan pulled up in his green stang & started to take pics of the process lol

Taped off the tips

Used rust converter first on parts of it

I absolutely look fabulous in these pics...NOT! I was sweat & gross!

Crazy smile with red eyes!!!!!

It was extremely hard to do this since my car is so low & I couldn't really see what I was spraying lol

Random pics of the cars Ryan took lol

Drying time...

Good documentation! I always feel stupid photoing everything I do (and then wish I photo'd later). I think the black mufflers look mint!

You didn't mask the undercarriage???!!!!! There is a little thing called overspray. When I touched up my exhaust I masked the whole undercarriage with newspaper and kept the car cover on it so I got no overspray anywhere.

Umm noo & I'm well aware of overspray. I'm planning on painting the whole underneath of the car so it's not a big deal at the moment.

Congratulations on a job well done. Mufflers are not something I would think to paint but they look pretty cool.

I had rust/corrosion behind my driver's side headlight. I think it was caused by the battery. The battery in the '95-99's is located on a tray behind the diver's side headlight and I believe that the vent fumes from the battery corroded the metal. I had to repaint that area. Then, I put a "Battery Mat" (it neutralizes battery acid) under the battery in hopes of neutralizing the fumes. The passenger side headlight area was not rusty at all. Not sure where your battery is at, but that could be the cause.
