Default Filler Plate Trouble

Woke up this morning to a ticket on my windshield. Failure to display the front license plate in an effective matter. It was in the windshield. He left the ticket under my wiper right in front of the license plate. He wrote an easy ticket to meet his end of the month quota. Oh well ill pay the $50 fine and wear the filler plate proud.

I'm pretty sure you can be PARKED without a front license plate. Check your local laws.

It's only if you get pulled over while DRIVING.

What he said! I'm pretty sure they can't give you a ticket while its parked. Speaking of how low do you have to be to give the owner a ticket while he's not in the car?

I would think if you were parked on the street you'd have to follow the laws regarding license plates. You can't park a car out on the street here that isn't road legal (which having both plates on the car is part of that).

Then again, you can't even park a car on the street in my city from 2-5am so we may be more strict than others.

Were you on the street? If so that's public property so you were disobeying the law.

I wouldn't say it's an easy ticket to fill his quota... it's a legit ticket that people get all the time.

Not having a front plate is pretty commonly illegal in most places now, so if you're putting the filler in your front bumper you should know that there's a risk of being pulled over.

I can maybe see it being OK if they've given you a warning in the past but f that man....Next up get the stow and go plate and leave it not displayed and when you have to go in for the hearing take a before and after pic and show the judge/magistrate the actual dated pics and let them know you had it all the time.......

I've been busted in Ohio for no front plate on the Camaro, $80 fine!!
I've seen MANY people with plates in windshields. I would snapped a pic and fought that (unless the law is more clear then that).
Heck, I've seen 4th gen F-Body guys bend the plate and mount it to the freakin' air dam under the car!!!
