6th Gen ('00-'05): Filler Plate

Filler Plate
I was very lucky to look in the trunk of my car when I got it and find that it had a filler plate. Although I had it for free its not in its best condition. There are some scratches across it. I was wondering how I can fix it up? I should get some bondo filler and apply it? What should I then sand it down with? How and what should I paint it with? Suggestions. Thanks.

If you have not painted or did auto body part repairs before ?
I suggest that you take your filler (part) to local body shops & get estimate(s)...If they are to expensive, then you may want to do some research on the best way to prepare/paint your own parts...It's hard to beat the experience of a pro painter....
Below are just two links to check out, but there's several on the `Web on this subject....Good Luck

I bought mine used, only had one previous owner. Luckily it was kept in great shape, except when I found the filler plate next to the spare tire in the trunk, it had a bug splattered right in the middle of it! it took some serious scrubbing, but I did eventually get it off. Good luck!
