Fender Bender

Well I was in a fender bender today with my 02 SS. We had crappy weather this morning when it happened. It was foggy, rainy, and slippery. My college was delayed by two hours and the accident happend on campus when I was pulling out of the parking lot. I didn't see the girl coming and I pulled out in front of her :(. She had a 99 Ford Taurus. It broke my brand new headlight and messed up my fender, bumper, and hood. The hood damage is very small, just some chips in the paint. I took her to the body shop and I did $1,800 dollars in damage. They said I am getting a new fender but they think they can salvage the rest. It has just been one of those days :( But anyway I will attach a pic of my car and the other car I hit.

That sucks to here & I'm glad you are OK. I had a similar fender bender 2 years ago with the 05 - damage was worse and it wasn't my fault but no one got ticketed cause it too was in a parking lot.

Sorry to hear about your fender bender , Glad no one got hurt..

Yea we were both ok which is all that matters but it still upsets me. The damage could have been worse I guess.

Thanks. Yea that's all that matters. Cars can be fixed or replaced but not people.

lougreen03 01-23-2012 09:35 PM

Glad both drivers are okay, always a good thing. Could have been much worse though. Hope the new headlights are ok

GLAD your ok but 1800 in damage damn it doesn't look THAT bad but i guess prices are crazy these days

Mr.Monte 01-23-2012 10:44 PM

monte held up pretty well id say! build strong!

MonteMan92 01-24-2012 09:29 PM

It didn't look like $1,800 of damage to me either. Yea she held up pretty good I guess. It was funny cause the girl I hit was like "thank god we both drive big cars or it could have been worse" lol. The cool thing is the body shop is only a half a mile from my house and I pass it everyday. I stopped on my way home from work and drove through the parking lot and she wasn't sitting out so I guess they took her in the shop and started on her. I can't wait to get her back because I have to drive my moms car...which is still a monte....but mine is better :rotfl: She has a 2000 SS with a dying transmission. It likes to think it's a manual and jerk around. Plus mine is leather with butt warmers, onstar, and tall that jazz and hers isn't. But it's still a monte so I like it

No offense to the owner of the Tarus but is it really worth fixing? It didn tlook like anything but cosmetic and its not like the Tarus is a huge deal, glad everyones ok

That's what I was thinking. The tarus also had other similar marks all over it. It was pretty banged up before I hit it.

MonteMan92 01-29-2012 10:21 PM

Well I didn't get her back by the weekend. I am hoping I get her back tomorrow so I can clean her all up and take some pics for you all

Was tehre no insurance involved? It sounds like you are laying out 18 bills for the Ford yourself ... Pardon if this is a nosey question.

Hey there. Yes insurance was involved. I have no idea how much it cost to fix the ford. The estimate for my car alone was over $1,700.

Did you get your car back yet? Did they do a good job fixing her?

I still haven't gotten her back yet :( I am hoping I am getting her today. I drive by the body shop every day and this morning she was sitting outside and she looked done. So I am just waiting for a call. I will clean her all up and put pics up when I get her back.
