Default E&G Classics "Q" Grille Installed

I spent the afternoon putting the E&G Classics Monte Carlo "Q" grille on my 2006 MC. Install instructions are included (& all over the net), but did not come with a template for drilling hole locations in upper grille. I did the best I could for drilling, but the 5/16" holes ended up slightly larger than I needed.

Lower should have taken a few minutes but I dropped one of the rectangular washers under the splash guard and spent about 2 hours trying to get it out, AHHH!. I had to basically remove the whole guard by removing all of the bolts & plastic clips. I couldn't pull the whole thing off even with all of the retainers removed. I managed to bounce the guard around enough to get the washer to a hole and pulled it out from there with a long needle nose pliers.

The quality is great but the fit for the upper protrudes out further at the bottom of the grille than the top. Don't know if this is due to my install or common with these grilles. I did not tape any of the black lower grille prior to installing the new insert and it did get slightly scratched up, a heads up for anybody attemping this in the future.

That being said, I am happy with the overall look! Anybody else have this grille?

Before

After - I like how the grille ties the fog lite chrome together. Its just enough chrome

Upper Fit - you can see how it isn't completely flush with the bottom
Lower Grille - see the small scratches on the black plastic?
