Just paint it flat black if thats what you're aiming for. I think theres a few youtube videos of plastidipped cars if you're really considering it. My buddy plastidipped some faded parts on his 150 didn't turn out too bad either.

Google has a bunch of forums about plastidiped cars. It seems like a lot of work for something that's not permanent

Not sold on the idea of doing a whole car in that stuff.

I did my hood in it once just because I couldn't afford to paint it. Plasti held up good in all the car washes I went to. It can be removed with a pressure washer that has extremely high pressure. Most car washes won't have high enough pressure to start it but if there's a rip somewhere it may start to peel off.

My hood never really got dull. Ran it like this for a month or two but now it's off cuz I'm getting it painted in August.

If you do decided to dip it, be sure to use a different method of application. Some type of gun or attachment to the can. I painted my hood straight from the can and it was very hard to get an even application on such a large area. A different sprayer can go a long way.

I'd check out this website--->DipYourCar.com -Plasti Dip For Your Car - Resources & More at DipYourCar.com NEW Glossifier

Lots of great info there! Best of luck. I currently have my wheels done and they're holding up great.

i have seen some shops use it for there custimers request due to not wanting to have some thing permitly on there car or just wanting to see how it looks before comitting the paint and clear.some i have seen use it as a templet to see how it would look an some pinstriping as well as a insignias. but i have not seen any one use it as full out paint to be honest.

My hood being done is probably as close as you'll find to the whole car here on the forum at least. I haven't seen anyone else here that's done as large of an area.

Only way to find out what it looks like is to do it I used about three cans on my hood so go get 10 or 15 cans and start masking it off

I'd have already done it if I didn't have a Pace Car. I would hate to mess up my decals in some way. Not sure how safe plasti is over vinyl so that's why I haven't tried it yet lol.
