Damage!
if anybody in my school parking lot (full of big hick trucks and little crappy cavaliers, along with other crap cars) hits my car with a door ding...possibly sliding into me when its icy out...i can easily go through every car in the parking lot and see the dings that are similar, or the similar dent...and then what i do is ( ya see, there are these things called knives) slash every single tire (including spare tire) with my 2 inch bladed knife...and ive told pretty much everyone that i trust, if this does happen...i will be pissed...unless it is one of my friends or someone says they will pay for it to be fixed...but yeah, no cameras in our school parking lot because our school is crap...but yeah haha
Yep, you've got to watch those young, in-experienced, drivers. My niece started driving my brothers Shelby GT to school and a stupid kid hit some ice and slid right into the front of it.
Thanks for the support guys. I'm still fuming over it. Everyone at work is pissed too. Our LPD officers are reviewing the footage as we speak. Hopefully it yields a plate number. I looked at the chassis and the actual metal bumper behind the cover and everything is sound. All the damage is superficial and easily repairable....at a cost. I'm more upset that my taillight is destroyed because those only come in pairs and are around $400. My bumper can be dealt with without a new cover and it wont look out of place.
As I was about to leave work today, I noticed that the rear bumper was cracked as well as the taillight. Not sure what could have caused this but it looks like a small impact from a door or another car. I am very pissed. now i have to get a replacement driver LED taillight and those arent cheap. I will see if i can pull up the parking lot footage from one of our security cams. Opinions anyone?
How will you manage that? That crack looks nasty. However i do wish you the best of luck.
The big crack will still be there, only wont be as noticeable. Thats the worst case scenario.
Update guys. My LPD guys at work says they cant pull the video footage til i get a police report. I did so today so I will see what they find shortly. Anyone have a silver rear bumper by chance? I'm in the market for one obviously.
Wow, your damage is a lot worse than what happened to my rear bumper last fall. I came out of McDonald's on a trip out of state, and looked at my rear bumper as I was walking back to the car, and thought to myself what the f*** is this? About a six or seven inch scrape across the crease on the left side of the bumper that exposed the primer below, plus a scrape on the flat part of the bumper on the left corner. No note left on my car or anything, either. Freaking ********!
Like The Maniac said, I'd just call up your insurance company and file a claim. They won't hold you responsible since the car was parked and you weren't around when the damage occurred, so it shouldn't affect your insurance premium. I'm thinking that to have actually broken the bumper cover and the taillight on your car, it must have been something fairly big (like a pickup or SUV) that hit you.
