how clearnce between the tire and fender on 87 a monte carlo ss should there be

sorry i don't have any kind of awncer for ya but it depends on a few different factors

depends on tire size, true ss or clone, aftermarket or stock springs, ect there is alot of variables

true ss i just want to know what is the stock hight on a 87 ss becuase i think someone changed the springs on it becuase there is 4 or 5 inch between the tire and the fender

That's stock size. I would check to see if the rear springs look newer

there is a 4 inch gap between the fend lip and the tire i dont think there should be a gap that big unless there was no motor in it

Maybe take a picture of the side view, from farther way. The car wasnt low by any means back then.

From the looks of the pics in your album the front looks higher then the rear, maybe the front springs were replaced and the rears weren't.

That does look a bit high. Mabye buy some nice drop spindles or lowering springs?
