Default Bumber Fixage.

Well did some work on the Monte this past Memorial Day.

The rear bumber was cracked a bit, so instead of getting a new bumber we used some epoxy and sealed in the crack...

So looks tacky eh?

Not so much, Paint is expensive... Underbody bedliner type spray is not

We picked up a few cans of this stuff and painted it along the bottom of each bumber so they would match. I still have to do the side trim pieces but overall it looks pretty nice.

The car was a good buy, low miles, good prices however that didn't come w/out a catch. There a a fair amount of scratches on the body most of them minor and with a fair amount of buffing should come out, however their a three pretty major scratches on the body that a really bugging me, the dealer was supposed to touch them up but it seems like they did it as fast as they could and it looks like crap.. Anyways I need some suggestions on how to fix or possibly hide them.

and no that is not me in the picture, a friend helped me out painting after I did all the work getting it ready :-\ hehe. I am a horrible painter.

maybe a paint pen would help you get rid of them

I think thats what they used....

I was going buff and wax the car today, but it looked like ran so I canceled that lol..

Anyone know of a good product to use? I used mostly turtle wax in the past, dose a pretty nice job. However maybe something a little stronger will help me get rid of these scratches... :-\

You probably need to get the scratches wet sanded and buffed, and depending on how deep they are they should look a lot better.

one goes straight to the metal, another hits just about at the primer.

How much dose this cost to get done? The guys @ the dealer like I said just freaking used a touchup brush or wtvr....

Do body shops do this work? Its something I am really not confident in doing myself as I don't really wana ruin the paint :S....

You would probably go to a body shop to get that done. My Fiance does detailing like that on the side.

if they are really down to the metal, you might want to just get it repainted or it will start rusting. someone hit my side door with a grocery cart and left a dent. i asked around and people were charging like 100-150 to remove the dent and repaint the whole door

OUCH! Sonin66 thats sucks, sorry to hear that! I hate inconsiderate people.

Greengiant, Sonin66 is right, you should probably just have the whole area re-painted. If its down to the primer or metal, then no matter how much buffing, or sanding you do, you will never see paint on the scratch again. Once the paint is gone, its gone...Buffing and sanding is only good for scratches that did not go through the entire painted surface.
