blacked tail lights today

Default blacked tail lights today

alright. so i decided to black my tail lights.. got 1 bottle of vht nite shade for $13.90, and one bottle of clear coat duplicolor for about $5.00, after talking to friends who did it they told me 3 coats is really dark.. i did 3 today and 2 clear coats and this is how it came out.. wish it was a little darker though..

their was a pic of them up close that wouldnt upload for some reason im trying though.. sun was out..

I think they look pretty good, although i do agree with you they do look a little light.

you could sand the clear off with 2k grit, but you may end up with light spots.

Just out of curiosity, how well do the lights light up when you stop? I can't help but think you might not be able to see them too well, especially in the Florida sun. How do they look at night?

Looks good, now just lose the Monte Carlo LT emblems to clean up the look.

nite shade is the cheapest way for tinting. had it done on my father's gtp and after about 3 years later the tint starting to fade out and you can feel/see some rough spots on the lenses. i sent my mc/gtp tails to Flip he's from the grand prix forums. he use paint base and clear coat. i saw one of the tail he done in person and it's nicely well done. . from what read regular tail bulbs are better than led bulbs as far as visability.

yeh i can see the brake and turn lights perfect in the day and they are just as bright at night that they were before i painted them..

and really think i should take off the monte carlo lt emblem? i was thinking about painting them black..

looks like it is just me and you on here right now, the lights look good, black lt emblems might look cool on white, you've done the lights, so do the emblems and let us see some pics, later man,

yeh they are dull for sure.. thinking about mailing them to the guy everyone on here talks about that will re do them
