Question Black Depo Headlights?

I've thought about getting a set of these Depo black bezel factory style headlights pretty much ever since I got the car, so just over two years now. Hesitant because I'm leery of leak and fog issues with aftermarket headlights. I'm a little less concerned about leaking since the car isn't a daily driver anymore but nonetheless it's still a concern I have. I'm also hesitant because I'm not sure if I'll like the look on the car, or how the matte black of the headlights will look against the gloss black body paint.

Also been thinking of painting the grille trim black. I actually had done this to the original grille right before I had the front end repainted and a new grille installed.

Question is, what does everyone think? Should a buy a pair of these for my car or keep the factory chrome bezel headlights? Should I paint the grille trim black? Opinions would be appreciated, thanks!

Blacked out headlights look great on black cars. I just didn't like the lower light output and went back to stock.

get them. i did i love them. first time i washed i got a leak. i put a bead of silicone around them and no probs since. plus for 120 or so bucks you can always go back to original. me personally i would keep the grille trim as is. i try to keep all my stock parts just in case and ya never know ya may sell someday. so i guess what im saying is if ya paint the trim are ya gonna be able to make it look stock again if ya want to.

I've seen pictures of the black Depos on black Montes and Impalas but I'd really prefer to see them in person before I go and buy a pair. Can only tell so much with a picture. I just don't know personally how I'd like them on my car and I don't want to be stuck with them if, after seeing them on the car, I prefer the look of the stock ones.

Joey, I keep all my original parts as well, just in case I do want to go back for whatever reason.

Get them, I think it will look nice. If your concerned about the matte black not matching, crack them open projector retrofit style and have them painted gloss. Re-seal and your concerns about leaking should go away. I've been eyeing these up for a projector retrofit, I wanted to get the black painted to match my car before I re-seal them.

I think they will probably look really nice on your black Monte.

As for the grille, my vote would be to NOT paint the trim black. I think the accent chrome looks nice.

Hmm, opening them up is an option, although I can say that idea worries the crap out of me; messing something up and being out the $170+ dollars, or not getting a good, clean reseal when I go to put them back together. I have had thoughts about smoking the amber side marker so that could possibly be done then. Not sure I will go that route but I'd have to see them in person before I made that decision. Anyone opened up an 06+ headlight before?

If you hate them, resale is an option. I was able to get the money back from my black headlights when I decided they weren't for me
