95-99 Monte Carlo bumper chrome trim.
Hey all,
I have a 98 Monte Carlo LS that I recently put a new bumper on. I replaced the damaged original bumper with a Monte Carlo Z34 bumper. Therefore, the trim that is usually chrome, is body colored. It doesn't match the rest of the car and is really noticeable. Can you buy that stick on chrome strip by the roll or something from anywhere? It pulls right off, if I can find some chrome, I can pull out the body colored strip and make it look right. I kept a sample if the strip from my old bumper in case I find something. I know O'Rielly and others sell stick on wheel opening moldings. I'm not sure if they would be the correct thickness though, I haven't looked. Thanks for any help!

I don't feel like putting that much work into it. It's just a daily driver that gets beaten hard in the winter. Not worth the effort. Take like 5-10 minutes to switch out the single strip.

well then just leave it how it is..lol

Wow, this thread took a turn for the worst. That's too bad because this is a minor issue.
I would say that if you can't seem to get the chrome off of a bumper from a junkyard, you might be able to buy some chrome strips from a parts store or something. I can't remember exactly what they are, but they're in the ricer section in the stores and I'm sure it would be a close match to the rest of the chrome strips on the LS.
Other wise painting is going to be your best option if you don't want to leave it as is.
