anybody know if the 7th gen trunk lid fit the 6th gen? from the look of it looks like it will, but i'm not 100% sure that is why i'm asking you guys first.

 

Yea i'm 99.9% sure it will fit. I think the only difference was the nascar spoiler on it, and the fact that is does not have a key hole for the trunk.

 

this one that i'm about ready to buy this afternoon if the guy show up does have the nascar spoiler on it. that's the maine reason why i want it cuz it does not have key hole. the 2005 monte was the first year that came out with no key hole.

 

just remember every thing from the doors back are direct fit for the body and seats and all of the glass exept the front end and some of the electrical. the front end and the electrical changed when the new front was put on the 7th gen so every thing is a match except for the front fenders radiator core suport engine types and front head lights.i did forget the suspentions are the same but not the engine types i have seen a silver monte that is the 6th gen have my trunk lid with the nascar spoiler.imo is it looks great on the 6th gen having the 7th trunk lid on it with the nascar spoiler

 

I've actually heard/ read differently...I've read that the rear quarter panels are also SLIGHTLY different (I think they are a little shorter) and I know the rear bumper cover is different in the 7th gens.

 

when i got side swiped and got my right rear quarter pannel fixed they used the 6th gen pannel. i asked them why they told me it is the same pannel except for the trunk the trunk they told me has a curve on it exept for the 7th gen. i asked them what do they mean there is a slight curve where the back third break light is and they showed me the slight bifference between the two. there is slight cosmetic things that are different as well but it is hard to explane like some moddels have door ding prevent strips and imo better looking tail lights on the 6th gen.

 

I was tempted to get the whole trunk lid myself, but I was able to just get the spoiler.

I was just iffy if it would fit, not because the shape is different, but because cars are all different, that's why swapping a hood isn't very easy either. It has to align perfectly, and each car could be different.
