Its a must with these cars every time you wash it to blast out all the dirt in the wheel lips. I always run the hose in there until dirt stops coming out and then wash in the lip with the sponge and blast it out good. Dirt sits down in the wheel well right above the rocker panel and it gets up in between the bumper cover and the quarter panel too.

Its a nice ride and was a good deal, but the rust is a lil discouraging though. Im looking forward to detailing it out, after this weeks crazy snow melts, lol. Hopefully thats the only area of rust on i'll find.
its pretty common if you dont wash and wax well enough or the owner before you. I dont have any around the wheel wells thankfully and i think ill start waxing better there after hearing all these stories, another place to check is behind the rubber piece under your doors, mines starting to go all the way through the door there

That sucks Amy
Mines rusting in a few various places. I try to sand down the wheel wells once in a while and go over it all with spray on rubber coating. Seems to help alot for that.

I'll keep that in mind Brock. I also have silver rust encapsulator paint in a rattle can, and I'm trying to think of a safe way to spray the area without getting overspray everywhere.

She said she just covered it with paint sealant for now?

Amy just tape it all off and use a bunch of newspapers.

Remember this, rust starts from the back side where you don't see it till it is almost too late. If you can get to the area then I would scrape the loose scab off and spray some undercoating on it.

I just realized that I have a can of black rust encapsulator paint that's not a spray so I can just paint the underneath of the lip of the sheet metal, sanding it before I do it of course and it will never show.
