Default 1000$ paint job

A guy told me that he would charge 1000$ to paint my monte all black
Which includes...

Body work
Door jams and trunk
And he remove all emblems handles and miscellaneous stuff

My question is, do this sound like a good deal?

It's a good deal if he does a nice job. If you wanted a paint job from our shop and only wanted to spend 1000 bucks you would get a scuff and spray, no jambs, only stuff like headlamps and bumper covers removed. Everything else would get masked. But that's also using professional quality materials.

Black shows the most imperfections, so if the job is a cheap as it sounds, it will show.

It seems as if you definitely get what you pay for in most instances in this day and age.

I would suggest looking at some of his other work if you can. If it's quality and quality materials that will hold up and look great then go for it. However no use throwing money away if the quality will be poor and you won't be happy with the results.

Got any pictures of the work he's done in the past? $1000 is damn cheap and most times cheap isnt always better, BUT sometiems you do get lucky and it turns out good you never know. What color is your Monte now?

Don't expect quality. I can't really use past jobs with my body guy because it wasn't always just painting. But for example, he's respraying most my passenger side because it doesn't match from a crap repair after an accident. It's going to cost me 600 just for that.

All that for $1000? Sounds too good to be true.

Another example. I literally just sent my car to the dealership to have the front end repainted, from all the stone chips the car has acquired over the years. The front looks like hell, especially in sunlight, and the black shows it x3. They quoted me at $1000 just to repaint the hood, bumper cover, and fenders. That price also includes removing the license plate bracket and patching the rivet holes in the bumper cover, installing a new upper grille, and new front ground effect plastic insert. Basically what I was expecting cost-wise.

Black shows everything so, if anything, get it done right. It could be a good deal, but it does sound too good to be true. I'd look into his work a bit more, maybe ask others if you know anybody who has had work done by him in the past.

Yeah like everyone else said that is very cheap! I was just quoted 4000$ to repaint my car the same color! Which is outrageous but we are talking show quality work. But you should definitly see if you can check out his other work
