As much as I love my Monte... I would LOVE to have an 86 SS, black with red stripe package.
Also Todd, my next purchase is also going to be an LS1 car :P but I'm looking at the Camaros... seem to be the same but run 2-3k cheaper
(Though I wouldn't mind finding a decently priced Purple WS6)

I had an '01 SS LE, all black, loaded, loved it, and wanted to do more to it, but it just didn't seam reasonably without the S/C engine. So I looked for a S/C car that was affordable, and found this car on ebay. There is ALWAYS more you would like to do to your cars, but right now, I'm pretty happy with what I got.
I did the engine swap. Just it was the whole car instead.

But if it's a Camaro -> White or Black
Trans-Am -> Purple.
If i was to choose a Dream Machine OTHER then a Monte, it would have to either be this BBG,

Or The Machine.

I cant help it. I have love for AMC.

yha, jj, i love those rambler "macheine"s
oh, that one my dad found is yet another "not for sale, gonna restore it" cars.... which i understand compleatly, lol.
dream monte? lessee, scince we are talking montes, that limits me... i would love a 70 / 71 / 72, i could really go for a 4th gen ( i have a soft spot for any GM vehicle from the 80's, be it a monte, an el comino, an olds, or a buick)
lately ive been doing the "what if" on if i were to discect a '95 MC Z34 and build it the way GM shoulda... start with some sawzall work & build a trans hump & a more accomadating firewall, and a place for a rear differential. then turn the 3.4 a good 90* and send power to the correct set of wheels
run it back through a 5 speed with the shifter coming outta the stock- looking console, a short lil driveshaft to a posi rear outta something like a 4th gen camaro or firebird... use a mustang II or pacer setup for the front suspention.... and otherwise keep it as stock looking as possible, stock interior with mabe a rollcage that would be as hidden as possible, stock seats, carpet, headliner, put a better guage cluster outta something like a 6th gen monte in the stock surround, a custom console to house a short through shifter & the linkages for the 5 speed, of course it would be shorter to accomadate the new trans / driveshaft hump....
make some front and rear STB bars, & frame connectors.... run the stock 16 in. wheels if possible, but modify the spare tire well to house a new 20 gal fuel cell, and have a fullsize spare held down in the center of the trunk... NO scoops, NO super loud sound system, NO racing seats, NO aftermarket wheels, NO scoops (except mabe a functional LT1 camaro scoop for better cooling).. run duel exaust & a couple of other fun things, & see what a 3.4 could do if set up that way.... then mabe dump in a 350 TBI engine in later on.... save that for later to avoid more clearance issues
