And, ew.
FYI - IROC was a package above Z28 from '85-'86 and then IROC replaced the Z28 in '87-'90 ('87 was the return of the 350 to the F-Bodies). IROC was only a 3rd gen option, never offered in the '93-'02 4th gen line (it was Z28 in those days).

But I will agree the Berli's I think looked pretty bad, especially in the 3rd gen models.

Everybody else separates generations when a major revision takes place. In car talk that would be a change in the frame or in the green house(glass) because they are the most expensive changes that a manufacturer makes. In the case of the Monte Carlo the frame is the same from 78 to 88. The windshield is the same 78 to 88 and also is the rear glass. The know the rear quarter glass changed between 80 and 81 and possibly the door glass too. I would have to check my Hollander interchange manual. The dash is the same for the whole run. The only real difference is the outside sheet metal style wise.

As far as the ugliest Camaro ever built. For me that is easy. I can't condemn any individual style because each generation had a few dogs but each one had some really gorgeous models too. So I have one dog of all the dogs that gets the bone
The winner of the dog bone for me was a 1982 Chevy Camaro. This car was bar bones . A stripper model. It was faded blue with a faded light blue vinyl interior. This one had a piece of crap console for the three speed manual shifter. This console looked like something you would buy at Walmart. It had manual windows, and no extra nothing. Under the hood it had the 2.5 four cylinder engine. No air conditioning. I don't remember if it had power steering or brakes. The Z28's and the other upper level cars had a bunch of body cladding, trim and paint that really showed of the lines of this car, but with out all the makeup she looks like the girl with the braces, glasses, and pig tails that everybody had in their class that nobody wanted to date.
I wasn't even refering to 78-88 Monte Carlo's. I was kidding about the "7th gen" Monte, which I never believed in myself. Some drive a distinction of generation between 00-05 Monte Carlo and 06 and up. This is a ages old debate on these boards.

I agree that someone should be shot over ever putting a 4cyl (and a sh!tty one at that) in a Camaro

I didn't vote for any of the years you listed. I think the '76 is the ugliest of the bunch. The front end reminds me of leftovers from a '74/'75 Vega which I didn't like either.

^^ Done up right, the big bumper 2nd gens can look pretty good. I've seen many that look very sharp. Granted, I'm very partial to 2nd gens (they've always been my favorite even before I had my first one) but I've seen some big bumpers that look just as good as the 70-73 and 78-81. Just depends on how they're done up. I still think the 70-73 are the best looking Camaros (with the 78-81 and 3rd gens not too far behind). I used to have this 87 IROC

Had to sell it cause the VA wasn't paying me my benifits on time and I wasn't about to sell the 73. I can pick up another 3rd gen at a later date pretty easily. 2nd gens in the shape that mine is in are VERY hard to come by unless you have a ton of money and even then they're still hard to find.

The IROC package died in 1990 when Nascar decided to go with the Dodge for the IROC races. So really, there was no IROC package from 91+

Berlinetta - oh dear. Was '84 and car shopping. Tested 2 brand new F-bodies, A Trans Am (man, I loved the power & sound of the motor..) and a Berlinetta. Both cars drove well, but were so full of rattles & squeaks that really should not be present on a brand new car.

The instrumentation on the Berlinetta was stunning. All electronic/LED/millions of buttons. But the radio system "pod" that stood like a electronic cash register display on the console would shake like a stop sign in a hurricane.

Bought a Nissan.

I had to vote for Other. The 1974 Camaro was really ugly & the Z-28, well why bother...
I remember when they were new & I asked my dad why they put Firebird Tail Lights on 'em ?? Of Course, this was before most of you were born... LOL!
