This looks like it would be such a scary job and I would never be able to do this. But I wonder if anyone on the MCF does this on a daily basis???

Anyways, check out this link to see what I mean

Videos like this make the rounds on a few of the radio related forums from time to time. Can you imagine the view you'd have from up there? It's definitely a dangerous job, but I think with the proper training it wouldn't be too bad...just don't look down!

yeah you need to be a special type of person to do that job. I seen a segament on a dangerous jobs show and they said it can take up to 8 hours to climb to the top, service it and come down. Imagine how your legs and arms would feel.

You'd definitely need to be a different breed to be able to do that. Especially "Free Climbing" 1,600 feet in the air!

I climbed to the top of a water tower to do some maintenance on a M.A.R.S. Antenna. Getting to the top of the tower was not a problem then. It was only 350 feet. Not even close to want these guys do. And I used safety harnesses. Still, as you're at the top you can't help but to think that one mistake and you are mush in the grass below!

Hi `Jorge,
I've never climbed that `high, but I've climbed fire look out towers & water towers. I think I would like a `job like that & I know it pays good $'s. I like being `up high & in `space (LOL)

I might have been that `high in my early teens when I tried some pot (LOL), but I stopped b-4 I fell `off & got in trouble.

I'm 2 much of a health nut 2 smoke or do bad things to my mind/body...A thread like that was posted on our site about 4 + years ago & some member's posted some great pic's..

Thanks for posting/sharing
