Mike Moran, your typical turbo freak, did it this spring. He broke into the 5 second bracket, running a 5.97 at 250 mph in the 1/4 mile, back in March. Somewhere around 3,500 HP.
This appears to be the fastest door slammer, turbocharged car out there, and guess what? IT'S A '99 MONTE CARLO!!!!

can you honestly call that a monte carlo? in reality its just a drag car with a fiberglass shell over it that looks like a monte carlo.

 

Well, you're kinda right, BUT! He coulda chose about ANY body to throw on there, and he chose a 5th gen Monte Carlo. And it IS a door slammer.

at best id call it a kit car, i appreciate him spreading the 5th gen word around like this. but in all reality its not a monte carlo. tho if he wants to make that a production ill take 1 haha

 

I'm with Wayne on this. Sure it's not a real Monte Carlo. But he could've chosen any car shell. Including the over-used Mustang. Fact is, the 5th gen shell he's using is very aerodynamic.

Nascar racecars are not real stock cars either. Haven't been for years. But it didn't stop people from admiring the Monte Carlo for it's association with racing.

 

X3 on what Wayne and Taz said...yes, I agree its by no means a Monte Carlo we all drive around in, nor is its body...but the fiberglass here was made to the style of a 5th gen Monte...and it could have been something else.
