Hey all, i'm curious as to how many monte owners keep their on the road all winter, and those of you that do how do they perform? I'm especially curious about how they do in the snow.

 

Mine is amazing in the snow. It is as good or better then my 4 wheel drive suburban. Only thing that has stopped me so far was semi bald tires in 8 inches of wet slippery snow.

 

Mine's a winter warrior too. Hopefully this is the last one though.

I have only gotten it stuck once, and it was because the air dam on the front shoveled up too much snow and lifted the front tires on me. I had to just shovel out that bit and get the tires back on the ground and I was able to continue haha.

 

sounds like the 6th gens are good hehe, hopefully a 5th gen owner will tune in.

I drive mine in the winter. I got stuck once last winter because we had a bunch of powdery snow over a bunch of wet snow. As soon as i pulled in the car sunk down to the cement and I couldn't move. Other than that it's not too bad.

 

NY uses good ol salt/grit/sand depending on who owns the road your on.

The 5th gen should do great, my 95 Lumina was also a beast in the snow.

 

I bought my Monte so I could have a car to use in the winter since it is my first year in college and I can't drive my firebird in the winter. Its a car, its supposed to be driven lol
