Why do You ~>`Mod your Monte Carlo ?

Why did I mod my Monte Carlo SS?
I bought it back in 2006 with low miles. I had a 1995 Mustang GT at the time that was on the verge of running 12s and was getting less and less streetable. I needed a more tame/practical daily driver, and had liked Monte Carlos since I was a kid, so I picked up my SS. I loved the way it looked, and dealt with the "slowness problem".
Fast forward to 2008- the Monte had served as a reliable daily for two years. The entire time I was getting raped by Maximas, Acuras, Audis, BMWs, and other stuff at stoplights on a daily basis on my way to work and was not happy- everytime someone blew my doors off in the Monte I thought to myself "If I were in my Mustang, that would NOT have just happened". I decided that I needed a quick daily driver. My original plan was to sell the Mustang and trade the Monte Carlo in on something newer and nicer than the Mustang and faster than the Monte Carlo. I came very, very close to signing on a 2007 Impala SS, but wussed out at the last minute.
Enter the Regal GSE- I found it for cheap with low miles at a local lot. I sold the Mustang and paid cash for the Regal. Since the Monte Carlo was still nice and low mileage, we got rid of my wife's 01 Escort ZX2 and she took over the Monte Carlo. I threw a few bolt-ons at the Regal and started daily driving it with splendid results- no more problems from those pesky Maximas or TLs in the morning.
This made me take a good, hard look at the Monte Carlo- both are Wbodies, both have 3800s, but one (the Regal) runs 13s and the other runs...16s?...and they get the same gas mileage? Seemed like a crappy deal for the Monte Carlo, so I had to address the "issue". $1800 later and the Monte Carlo is a competent performing car.
Now I've got two modified FWD 3800s- seems kind of backwards, since on the forums it looks like younger kids (I'm 28) get into these cars and then move on for "faster" platforms, and I've had "faster platforms" but now am rocking two supercharged 3.8s- but I tend to think that these platforms work better for a more "refined" audience, like me.
Since I'm a speed junky and can't ever seem to leave well enough alone, I've got additional plans for the Monte as well- at the very least, I'll be upgrading to 33lb injectors, dropping to a 4.0 pulley, and installing a downpipe and cat-back exhaust. With some additional timing I'm confident I can get it to run 13s.

Thanks Kid. Teacher, I plan on keeping the Monte Carlo for a long, long time too. I've got a decent lineup of cars right now. It helps that my wife likes them both too. I really like the variety of deciding which one to take on any given day. Once we get our 93 Mustang LX up and running next year, it's going to be even better.

I mod because it's fun. I'm not going overboard, I'm keeping the Monte a classy car, just giving it a little pep.
I'm not going to be racing it anytime soon. I just want it to be a refined car, and when people get in / see it they think that's a really nice car and then they can start to like Montes.

To make it my own, unique, personalized car. So when you see mine and another black '06 Monte SS that mine stands out. To make the car perform better in all categories. That's pretty much the extent of it.
