Watch out! Florida is a dangerous place to live
Florida has a reputation for being one of the craziest states in the country and it's not without good reason.>(Space lives here) We're hit by hurricanes and tornadoes almost every summer, we have the title of being the lightning strike capital of the country and we've got a handful of crazy Florida men and women who've made major headlines. Even a relaxing day at the beach can turn wild if you're invaded by a brain-eating amoeba or impaled by a needlefish. Whether you're on land or in the sea, there's most likely something nearby that you should be wary of.

My life story is a bit long and kinda hard to talk about, Lets just say the MCF and the friends i met on here helped a lot to pulled me out of the depression i felt i was stuck in forever, and i smile a lot more because of it!

But i will tell my Monte Carlo story!

My first car was a 2003 chevy cavalier!

For a first car, i loved it! got it in 2006 my senior year. could beat all of my friends cars, 140hp and light.

My mom needed a new car so i let her trade that in for one (hers broke down), so we looked for a new car for me.
I wanted a truck! living out in the country there were a lot of trails and mudding areas and all my friends with trucks would go.
I drove a chevy colorado as a security truck at the time and i wanted one of my own i loved it, a nice small truck
BUT!
Searching online i found a monte carlo SS and fell in love instantly!
I knew that's what i wanted.
so in 2008 i went and found a beauty!

Here's the exact day i bought it!

2002 3.8L.
I adored this car, had only 33K miles on it, mint!
I really wish i found this forum when i had this car, but i wasn't into cars yet so i didn't search online about it and such.
I got it because it just looked good

then that started to fall apart, little things but more and more. In 2011, mom said she would co-sign for a new car or help pay to fix this one.
I thought what a great excuse to get a V8 Monte!! haha
I knew right away i wanted a V8 monte carlo because i adored my 02.

So there ya go, i found 2 of them near me, only 2 with reasonable miles!
A red one, and a black one.
As you can see i had a red 02, so i picked Black Licorice!
I test drove the 06 with an old dealer and he only took me around town, 30mph but it was smooth and comfy.
I bought it and when i got it on the highway, i knew that was it.
That's when i started getting into cars!
Then i found this amazing site! and the rest is history!

Here is the day i bought her

And i plan on keeping it forever. I will pay it off, then get a new car, but she's staying my "weekend driver"

That's my monte story

Getting into Weather is pretty easy!
I've always been fascinated by it, It's one of the few things these days people can not control.
In 6th grade you meet with the guidance counselors at the school and start talking about your future.
I always loved weather so they suggested a weatherman.
Since then mom used to get me picture books with weather phenomenons and i would just sit in my room at eat those up! Tornadoes especially always interested me!
So since then I've just been a weather nerd! and i knew that's what i wanted to be involved in the rest of my life, i knew i would enjoy it!

Snakes! haha I just recently got into them not long ago, only 2-3 years now!
Me and my girlfriend Amanda went to a pet store that specialized in reptiles.
I never even had an interest in snakes, in fact my mom was terrified of them growing up and i wrongly grew up thinking they are evil and mean and will bite!
At the pet store i joked "Lets get a pet snake wouldn't that be cool?"
Amanda is really into reptiles and already had a leopard Gecko.
So we looked around and found Roxy
She's a beautiful Mexican Milk snake, and we bought her.
To be honest the first week i wouldn't hold her i was so afraid she would bite!

But never, Roxy is a total sweetheart. She never even struck at us or anyone.
This is the snake we have people afraid of snakes to hold and warm up to them.
She is super super friendly to everyone and really opened my eyes to snakes.
I learned a lot. They aren't even and don't want to bite you, they have no arms and legs so if they are trapped of course they will bite.
Anyways, she was great but she moves around a lot she doesn't sit still.

Amanda wanted a snake that just sat with her and watched TV ect.
So for Christmas that same year we got Roxy i got her a Ball Python.
She named him Meshuggah (after a band we like) or Meshy for short.
she adores this guy, this is her snake.

He is very calm, only ever bitten once, and that's because Amanda stuck her hand int he cage to lay out a paper town while about to feed him. he smelled rat and because he see's heat, thought her hand was a rat haha
As you can see, bites aren't that bad.

After seeing her with her snake, i wanted a snake just for me! haha
So I researched and knew what snake i wanted next.
Adrien was next and he is a Jungle Carpet Python!

He gets bigger than the others, and is a bit more defensive.
you had to hold him with gloves as a baby because as babies they bite.
They are not for people just starting with snakes

But as they get older they calm way way down.
He has never bitten me with the gloves off, but because he claimed me as "his" and he is defensive, he hates Amanda and has bitten her, but again this is when he was young, he hasn't bitten anyone in over a year now.
And again, this is the worst a snake does, there really isn't any fear, a dog does much much more damage.

Now Adrien is huge! and i love this guy this is my first ever real pet that was just mine!

And this past month:

that was going to be it for snakes, but the reptile guy at a local pet shop (the one we got Roxy at) needed to make room and offered us a cutie of a snake for only 20 bucks, we just couldn't refuse.
so our next snake is a California King Snake!
This is Worm!
Worm is very very feisty and although i have never been bit, unfortunately Amanda has. But again only when worm was young, she hasn't bitten in a long long time.

And again, minimal damage.

Now she's bigger and behaves!

And that's it! 4 snakes!

K.....my turn!!

I've always been into cars since I was little, my father was the main reason.. and having a little brother got me into it too. (Loved playing hotwheels! haha)
When I was 10 he bought his favorite, and first car...a 1972 chevelle. Poor thing was nothing but rust. We took that thing everywere! Once a month we drove out to Shea Stadium to watch the NY Mets games, drove out to Montauk a few times....
Then he got a 1981 Elcamino....This was my first car love... It was in decent shape, excluding the hole in the floor on the driver side. We used to tear **** up with that thing! He promised me this was going to be my first car....then months before my 16th birthday he sat me down and told me he's going to sell it...
Money was tight, and he didn't have enough to make it safe for a first time driver..

Then my mom came into play....my first car was a handmedown, a 170,000 mile 1993 Pontiac Bonneville SE. I fell in love.
For the mileage she had stunning looks. I loved the feel of how comfortable the ride was...and how much fun it felt to cruise down the road...

After my first year I began looking into making it faster...Found out a few models are supercharged and there came the dream.....
It was my first car I learned how to do brakes....a oil change...coolant flush...And then we finally found out where I am leaking oil..the oil pan gasket finally blew out...days before I was going to take it to a shop to get it fixed. That 2 minute drive to a safe parking spot is what killed it..I park and look underneath and oil was pouring out..
Took it to the shop...changed the gasket...and changed the valve cover gaskets. Rear valve cover was filled to the brim of sludge, thanks to the previous owner. Very unkept. A month later, the oil pressure began to mysteriously drop, and oil pump began to fail..It lasted 2 weeks until its final last rod-knocking death...

Next was a 1993 Buick Regal Custom....another 3.8l n/a.

I saved myself a little money and stripped everything I could at the time from the pontiac, over to the buick. Now I really beat the snot out of this thing... I got lucky, it only had 80k when I bought it, and had perfect ice cold a/c. Unfortunatly nothing was ever changed and dumped a good $5,000 into suspension work. Had it for a year...got fed up with shelling out money. Then there was one week everything started going downhill. The transmission started to slip. Never had a trans service in its life. I knew when I bought it I'm going to ruin it if I change it.
It started to leak. EVERYTHING started randomly leaking. This car gone from being the weekend driver to a daily 100mile a day driver and fell apart. One day freaking out because I'm stuck with a garbage car a 02 Intimidator monte carlo was next to me. I never wanted one until that moment..

Whoever it was, defenatly did some work...she had such an amazing rumble, and when the guy took off the scream it made melted my heart.
That night, 1am in the morning over a long hard search...I find my Jr being sold at a dealer locally. 2 days later I check it out...there it was sitting so beautifully. He started it up and let me sit in the driver seat.
I was speachless... all I could say is "I'll take it!"
Traded the garbage buick that gave me trouble up until the day I handed it over (ignition cylinder locked up right at the dealer, i was driving around in a rental for a week)

This car has gotten me out more...I gone from just sitting at home...nothing to do...very depressing. And now I'm out all the time...I've met new friends and all of you here on mcf!

Oh yea. I have some strange animals too. I had a cute little hedgehog for 5 years.. Miss him dearly.

him swimming..

And I got a pet snake too! His name is Nugget, his spots remind me of nuggets of gold
He's 5 years old now....crazy how tiny he was!

here is him now.. my curious little man.. gotten so big! almost at his max length
