the days at the track (usually) go by surprisingly fast, i would assume that most of that has to do with the fact we usually get started at the track around 5-5:30 a.m. at the end of the day i am always retarded exhausted though. this weekend (as are all weekends we are in california) is 3 days, friday - sunday, and i take a redeye home sunday night. board at 9 p.m. (california time) and arrive around 5 a.m. (my time) in boston. hour drive home, and i crash for the entire day on monday.

WOW..Some crazy stuff!

Most i've ever worked was 12 hours days 14 days in a row, with one of those days actually being 17 hours....it was durning Christmas time when I worked at Linens N Things a few years back. I hated that job, and hated retail! People can be such jerk offs.

Now I work my 40, and thats it! I love my job now! Been here 3 years, and still like it! There is only like maybe 3 days a month I work more than 8 hours. Its nice!

Although, due to cut backs, its just me and one other person running my office, and he wants a weeks off in July, so i'll be working 13 hour days for a week straight comin up here in July...But thats ok, cause then he will be doing the same for me for like 3 days while I take a trip to Vegas to visit my cousin...Maybe 4th of July weekend, and then Monday and Tuesday????

my office time is salary (which is starting to suck more and more since i work well over 40 hours a week normally) but my hours at the track are all under the table, plus i get commission monthly, so it seems to balance. i'll be asking for a raise once the boss's wife goes out on maternity leave though (soon).

I honestly don't know. I've had some long weeks. Many over 100 hrs, some over 120 hrs. I think the record is 136. I worked a stretch of 100 hr weeks 5 weeks in a row about 20 years ago. All that cost me a marriage.
Right now I'm making a fraction of what I was making, but I THINK I've got a solid job. We have some problems, but we're working thru them. I'm on salary for a change, 43.5 hrs a week. I flew to Minn/St Paul last week, and had a 20 hr day, but I ended up taking off yesterday, so it balanced out.
NO MORE LONG WEEKS FOR ME!

Yeah, well you gotta ask yourself if its worth it right... like you said, it cost you a mariage...whats the point of having the extra money or banked time if you dont have or take the time to enjoy it?
