PCs are all homebuilt here.

Main jama-mama computer is a 3gig Core2 Duo on an Intel motherboard. I've always built my computers on Abit boards but changed to Intel ever since the bad capacitor days. 4g ram, Invidea 250GTS video. Windows 7 32 bit OS. Machine is rock solid and behaves like it should. Case is a Coolermaster Stacker, it's huge. Has 4TB of disk space. I have the entire 600 CD collection ripped in lossless and the 350 DVD collection in MP4 for home streaming.

Display is a 24" Dell from several years ago when they cost big bucks but were built to last.

There's another Core2 Duo that operates as a backup & server and streams the MP3 collection 24/7 as my own private internet radio station.

Apple iPad 64g for times when you want to surf the 'net or stream when away from the main console.

I've got a Dell laptop for whenever I need portability with more function that an iPad.

There's a few more PCs in the home, built from leftovers of other builds then upgraded.

Motorola Driod X2 - shoot it's a micro computer with a phone.

Internet is Xfinty Blast. 30/6. Router is a Netgear WNDR3700. There are a lot of 'net connected things in the home - PS3, Xbox, 2 WDTV boxes, a Sony Dash and maybe even the coffeemaker are tapped into the home network.

Also have a Mifi wireless Internet hotspot from Comcast. Might quit that and pay for tethering on the Driod instead.

work is a hp...

home is a gateway... no internet...

the most use is my HTC Evo 4g shift... internet at my fingertips android!

 

I use to build desktops for myself and others but just use laptops now. I have a couple Dell laptops and an HP laptop. I work in IT so the last thing I want to do when I get home is get on a computer so I don't use them too much, I don't even like talking about them haha.

My last one was custom built but now I have a Dell gx 520 for a hundred bucks off ebay. works fine for our familys use. I use a Logitec wireless keyboard and mouse combo and a 22'' Hp flat screen monitor. My wife wants a laptop so ill probably be adding an HP or acer laptop soon. Alos I use Charter High Speed internet.

I built mine from parts I bought over a 3 month period, totaling $1100. this was nearly 2 1/2 years ago.

EDIT: yes, that is a motherboard hanging on the wall. i like to hang computer parts on my wall...

EDIT 2: space, I would stay away from those sites. I've heard some horrific stories. It's always cheaper and better to build your own. it's very simple, and if you ever plan to upgrade, i could walk you through the steps, chose out what's best for your interests.

AS good as I am on my PC. I might as well have pencil & paper But the one I use the most is a 5 yr old HP.......
