I can't believe I haven't posted yet in this very old thread. Maybe I was having a hard time deciding which car I'd want back the most.

I'd probably want my '77 Thunderbird back. It was a bit of a dog with only a 302. Not fast. It was my second car and I was going for "safe" because my first car, a '73 Comet, buckled really bad in a horrific car accident and I was a little shaken. My father had owned a '77 Cougar and had something like 4 car accidents, none of which even required repair. Back in the '70's or earlier, it used to be hard to "write off" a car. When you were in a car accident, it was normal to drive away and you would be really concerned for drivers/passengers if the car was damaged so badly it was destroyed. You could probably roll the '77 T-bird and still drive away.

But it wasn't that cool of a car when I own it back in early 90's. I always had it packed full of friends tho. It would be a cool car to have now cuz I seldom see them anymore, even tho it was the #1 selling car in America in '77. I only drove the car for less than a year before trading up to my '83 Firebird (which my best friend still owns). My father garaged the T-bird for a few years before it went to the wreckers. But before it was scrapped that back seat saw some action!

I never took a single picture of the car! We didn't have digital cameras y'know. Pictures weren't all the rage yet. It looked just like this, but had different spoke wheels and a cloth interior:

I think I would like to have my S10 back. It was the newest truck I ever owned. I bought it from the original owner in 91. He owned it for about a year and put 70000 miles on it somehow. It was ordered stock and customized by the dealer so I think they used it as a display truck between all there dealerships before he bought it. I drove that truck for years then sold it to my Brother in Law then he drove it for a year or so and traded it to a friend who drove it until he cooked the clutch then he sold it to my brother who drove it for a week or so and totaled it.

I couldn't decide on just one...I wouldn't mind having any of the following again:

'57 Chrysler 300
'64 LeMans w/GTO option
'69 Camaro Z28

My 1956 Belair. 4 door, 3 on the tree, and mismatched tires. First car, paid a hundred bucks for it. Great times for a 16 year old.

My guess, Georgeduffy, is that you remember "American Bandstand". Welcome to the forum and the League of Extraordinarily Old Gentleman

Default Bandstand

I used to rush home from school so I could watch it. My two older sisters were semi-regulars on the show.

1977 Ranchero GT beats out all the others.

More reliable than the TR3
Hauled more than the Capri 5.0
Faster than the Datsun Lil' Hustler
Less rust than the 280Z
More comfortable than the Pulsar NX
Safer than the VW beetle.
Held more gas than the Expedition (and rightfully so. . )

Maybe because I remember more dates at the drive-in in it

30 plus years ago - decorated after wedded to the cutie in the pic. .

I miss my '98 F-150. It was the first vehicle that I had drove when I was 13 and had it til almost a year ago. I had it pretty much bone stock with a 5.4L Triton and an extended cab. I was too young to know anything about it so I had beaten the hell out of it, but it took it like a champ. Got rid of her because it got 13 mpg at best on the highway and it was too expensive for a 16 year old to keep filling up. Sold it to my dad's friend in town who still has it and treats it nicely. Got a lot of memories with her. When we sold her, we got the Monte. But I still miss her.
