Santa Claus brought me the stomach flu at about 4:15 this morning!!!! I woke up, went to the bathroom, and ended up yelling for help from my mom. I was having a white out and felt like I was going to throw up. Well, that part held out until about 10:45. Now I feel okay on my stomach.... but if I could ever imagine what a 80 year old man feels like, this is it... so sore, hard to get out and do anything. Snow is coming, and dad needed some help getting our generator ready and going to get gas. I made sure he drove instead of me... trying to nap it off a little bit.

Since no one really knew what the weather was going to do, my brother, his wife, and three children came to our house yesterday, along with my girlfriend, to celebrate Christmas yesterday afternoon. Darn good thing. I don't feel up to taking pictures of anything right now. I got my parents a new camera, my brother a scoreboard clock that shows the time, the temperature, and the date. I got my sister-in-law some Elvis CD's. My nieces received some of those pillow pets. My girlfriend got a promise ring, a rat and two rat cages, and two ornaments (the last two gifts I gave her early).

I got 7 model cars.. one a 1:24 Petty Torino in honor of his 100th win, and my other 6 were 1:24 scale. I got a 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser, a 1967 Camaro convertible, a 1964 Ford Falcon, a 1966 Mercury Cyclone convertible, a 1932 Ford, and a 1970 AMC Rebel. I also received a few DVD's, the documentary "Petty Blue", a 5 hour DVD on Petty's 7 Daytona 500 Wins, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway for the Xbox 360, a new leather jacket, some wax, and my girlfriend made a shadow box of my Torino with pictures and small car parts in it such as wheels and engine pieces from a model car set.

Since we celebrated yesterday, I consider this to be one of the best Christmas's I ever had. I had a woman who loves me, and family is becoming all the more important to me as I go through college. I could do without the sickness today... but I'm trying to keep my sights up. On the plus side, maybe the stomach illness has just made me forget all about my jaw, but I haven't had the first bit of trouble from my wisdom teeth extraction last week today.

The snow started falling around 1:00... then transitioned to freezing rain and right now, nothing. They're still calling for 2-5" to fall tonight and 3-5" to fall tomorrow. Oh the joy. The generator is ready, the scraper is on the tractor, and we have some food stored up! If we keep having winters like we've had the last two years... those of us in this section (norht of Raleigh) in NC are going to have to invest in some winter beaters.

Merry Christmas to all... and to all a good night.
