Yes go with Avira or Avast, both are much better than AVG. I personally run Avira.

We have McAfee at home. It sucks! Our Comcast account works thru it, but I hate it!
At work we use AVG and Malwarebytes from Cnet.
I removed 743 malicious files from my office managers computer last week with malwarebytes. Somehow AVG wasn't set up right, so I had to remove it and re-install it. Works fine now.

I appreciate your time, and for sharing your thoughts experience with virus programs. It's going to save me $'s from going out & paying for a program. Norton has been causing many problems on my puter & it really slows things down : (
I hope this thread has helped other family member's.

I used to use AVG, until I heard of Microsoft Security Essentials. It's another free anti-virus, and so far, much better than AVG. Plus, it's from Microsoft and IT'S FREE! :P

Seriously, use Norton. I used to use McAfee, but I hated it. Always wanted to take over my internet connection with constant updates.
